Sean Brock's Cookbook: Heritage

Sean Brock’s Cookbook: Heritage

The Project: Make It Work  household is just full of cool people.  Our housemate and favorite photo editor at People Magazine, Ben Trivett, had the opportunity to test out a recipe from amazing chef Sean Brock’s (see: Mind of a Chef, Season 2, PBS) new cookbook, Heritage.

Ben prepared the recipe as part of People.com’s new column Tiny Test Kitchens, featured here.

We of course, got to partake in the delectable meal for four, and it was a special treat.  Below is a before and after photo, taken by Ben.  You can see and read more about the cooking process at People.com’s Great Ideas.

De La Renta has been designing stunning gowns for decades.  Sarah Jessica Parker paid special tribute to the designer by wearing his signature embroidered into her gown.

A quote from Parker about her gown and how it got the designer’s signature: “Did you see his name on the back?” Parker asked, twirling around so we could see the designer’s signature in red script across the gown’s tail. “I said to Mr. De la Renta, please let me use scarlet embroidery thread, and splash your name across the back. It was my idea. He would never in a million years have done it, he’s far too modest.” (source)

And finally, some highlights from this Spring/Summer 2015 Oscar De La Renta Collection:

Thank you for all of the beauty you created over the years, Mr. La Renta.  You will be missed, but you will be remembered in all that you’ve left behind to inspire us!  -C. Scott

It’s the Paris Couture Fashion Week buzz of the day: Kristen Stewart.

She arrived at the Chanel Couture show all in white, looking fabulous in a cropped top, and with a cropped hair style to match. She’s been the new face of Chanel since December, and the partnership seems successful, with Stewart’s looks and style giving Chanel an edgier feel than they’ve presented in the past.

We love Sarah Hyland!  It was great to see her this week on Under The Gunn for their vampire inspired challenge. This is a beautiful portrait by Ben Trivett.  Wishing her all the best with Vampire Academy and of course, Modern Family!
